This marks my second trip back to my hometown this month.
While I usually love the opportunity to travel back to visit family and friends (and of course to enjoy this amazing view from my sister’s couch), both of these unplanned trips this month have been under tremendously sad circumstances.💔
Take time to tell your loved ones what they mean to you. Hug them. Cherish them. Be kind to them.
Say all the thoughts and do all the things, as if today were your one and only chance because I’m here to remind you that you might not get this opportunity again. ❤️❤️
Love on peeps and always choose kindness. 😘😘. Home is where the ❤️ is and today it’s with my sister and family.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?

For me it rotates between:
1) Outside… yes, hiking. But also swimming in the ocean, backpacking and rock climbing.
2) Sharing moments and making memories with my daughters. They light up my life.
3) Laughing with my girlfriends - anywhere.
4) Drinking tea 🍵 on my couch 🛋️ watching the sunrise with Alan and my pups Gizmo and Moose (current status btw).
5) Traveling anywhere new. I love to learn from and experience different cultures and meet new people. ✈️🗿🚍🧳🚉
6) Sipping a dry oat milk cappuccino in a cafe in a new place. ☕️🚃🚆🗺️

While I don’t totally agree with this audio, there is a little something in it that resonates with me. 😊

For me, happiness comes from
• sharing connections with people (loved ones & also others I interact with even just for a moment or blip in time),
• having food security and shelter,
• being in nature,
• finding gratitude in the many tiny moments that make up my days and
• feeling as though what I have is “enough”.

But yes, always try to do more of what you love! Whatever that may look like to you. ❤️❤️

Would you live differently if you didn’t worry about how others perceived you? If so, how? 🤔
As much as I hate to say it, I would definitely mix some things up!
For starters, my vanity routine would be different. Although I’ve already stopped wearing makeup most of the time, I still care way too much about the color of my hair roots, the wrinkles that highlight my age, and my slightly fuller figure these past few years.
If I’m being honest, I’d also be less social at times and take more quiet time when in groups for extended periods. I feel like all too often people expect me to be “on” or my old crazy and social self because that’s the me they know, but as I’m aging I don’t always relate to that same person my friends once knew.
I’ve opened up about this recently with my closest friends, but I still feel like I have to play the part with others and as much as I love and cherish my visits and chats with friends and family, it can sometimes be exhausting and draining on me too. My soul seems to crave more quiet time these days.
On the plus side, with these wrinkles comes some wisdom fortunately. More and more, I’m trying to embrace accepting myself rather than focusing on being accepted by others.
It’s okay to look my age.
It’s okay to be crazy, goofy and to dance on tables when the music rouses and inspires me, AND… it’s also okay to need quiet and alone time.

already taken.”

Because “sunrise” is always my favorite time of day!
Every morning, no matter where that morning finds me, I walk outside, look up at the sky and try to practice and find gratitude for this big beautiful world of ours.
Each sunrise is a chance to start fresh. It’s a new beginning; a blank page in this chapter and I love all the possibilities they hold.
An endless number of miracles and gifts can begin and exist with each sunrise and I want to be there to witness any of them that I can!
Today’s gift was this beautiful rainbow and the peace it offered and set upon me. Good morning friends! I hope you find your own peace this morning as well. ❤️🧡💛💙💚💜

Wanderlust and highway dust. Miles and Smiles. Oh how I love a good road trip!
Just like backpacking, my time on the road reminds me how life is about the journey, not the destination. There are no wrong turns. You’re naturally looking ahead, at life through that windshield, rather than at the past, through that rear view mirror.
Once you pull off the road and make camp, you learn to just be. Everything falls into place.
